Reds and Nationalists Swap Artillery Fire
TAIPEI, Formosa, Mar. — Chinese Nationalist batteries on the Quemoy Islands silenced Communist guns yesterday in the heaviest artillery exchange in recent weeks of their vest pocket war, the Defense Ministry reported. Nationalists said the Reds started it. The Communists fired shells—42 at Quemoy yesterday morning and — at Little Quemoy in the afternoon.
