Jordan Hangs 4 as Israeli Spies
AMMAN, May 9 (P.)—Four Jordanians convicted of spying for Israel were hanged publicly early today in their home towns. They were arrested late last year while allegedly crossing the border into Israel with military secrets. A military court condemned them to death two months ago during the regime of Premier Suleiman Nabulsi, who was later ousted by King Hussein because he was too close to the Communists and extreme nationalist opponents of the monarch. A fifth Jordanian convicted of spying for Israel was hanged publicly in Amman last January. Today's executions were carried out in Amman, Nablus, Toulkarin and Hebron.
