That's the warning from the head of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, who says passengers should expect fewer flights and higher prices. Carriers are already reducing their flight schedules ahead of the summer holiday season.

San Francisco, June 27.—Unless larger quantities of fuel oil in the open market than have been available heretofore, the railroad, at the present rate of consumption, can operate only ninety days longer. W. R. Scott, general manager of the company, so informed the California railroad commission yesterday at the hearing on the request for permission to raise freight rates 15 per cent. Mr. Scott also told the commission the company had investigated the practicability of changing the engines of one or more divisions to coal burners, but that the idea had been abandoned because no coal supplies could be found.
